I've been asked to submit a paper for a professional conference...and I need to submit a CV. I know it's different from a resume...but how do I make one!?

As far as I am aware, CV is just the new word for a resume?

No, they are different...CV's are for more academic things...but I still don't know how to set one up!

From my experience, CV's need to include almost everything you've ever done, both academically and professionally. I have one that I've used and I typically set the top up as you would any resume, highlighting your name, address, basic educational info.

Then below that, divide into subheadings and years:

EDUCATIONAL EMPHASIS

2004 Class #1, Class #2, Class #3, Class #4
Particular Emphasis in ...

2003 Repeat

PROFESSIONAL EMPHASIS

2002-2004 Casino Host, Montecito Hotel and Casino
Responsible for ensuring client and personnel
Satisfaction; Also responsible for coordinating
entertainment programs with various agencies,
corporations, and management.

2002 Full Time Dancer, Hottt Girlsss Club.

2001 CEO, Pisces' Playgirls.com.
Founder and CEO for 13.2 million dollar venture;
Included involvement in accounting, management,
Marketing.

2000 ETC.

AWARDS and HONORS

2004 Honor #1...

Maybe that gives you a lead...The key to the CV is include EVERYTHING. I think of it more like a background dossier that you would be giving so that the person receiving it can start a comprehensive background check.

Hope that helps.
