To anyone out in the Baltimore Area...
I will be moving to Baltimore this August. If anyone can give me info on where to live (I want to live where young professionals live), types of clubs out there, social organizations, and the "single scene" :) I would be really grateful.
Thanks,
Jess

I live in Southern Maryland, about 2 hours away from Baltimore. I come up that way frequently to visit family, go shopping, and visit the National Aquarium. I did work in downtown Baltimore for a summer, though.
Are you planning on living in the city, or somewhere outside? My friend lived in the Mt. Vernon area, on Cathedral Street, and it seemed pretty nice. Oh, and as far as I know, the place to be for nightlife is Fells Point!

Hey! I live in Annapolis... which is like 20 minutes south of Baltimore. Annapolis is awesome... small town feel but it has a TON of stuff to do!
I have friends who live in Canton (Baltimore). It's a bit upscale, but the townhomes are lovely and the bars are awesome. Fells Point... or near in the harbour are party places with good bars. One of my favorites is the 13th Floor in the Belvedere Hotel.
As for living in the city, most of its pretty nice... like up on St. Paul Street. You'll really just have to come and check out a few places in person b/c Baltimore can tend to be like DC, in that you can cross one street over and you're in the ghetto. Mt. Vernon is nice... Towson is nice too (more suburban. I went to college there... and its only a 10-15 min. drive into the city).
Do you like live music? Baltimore has an awesome music scene (which I know quite a bit about. http://thelocalgroove.com is my website). Good luck w/ your search!!

Hey.... i am in Baltimore also....
To answer your question about where to live... depends on what kind of person you are.... Canton is really nice, but kinda pricy for my tastes. I also like Columbia. Maybe you can visit first, or get a place thats month to month till you decide on a place that is right for you. One thing is for sure... there is definately something in the Balto/DC area for everyone!

Seasquirt,
I live in So. MD, too. St. Mary's County to be exact. Whereabouts are you?
