Assistant Store Managers

Is anyone an assistant store manager at the Gap or a store like it? I work in retail now and think I would like to be an assistant manager. I was wondering how the pay is, the hours, etc?

Well, from my understanding, assistant managers' salaries vary depending on the location and the size of the store. Where I live, in South Dakota, I think the normal salary is around $20,000. Oh, and the hours aren't that good. It's not 9-5 anyway. You pretty much have to be available during store hours. I'm not an assistant manager, but have been applying and interviewing at various places for that position.
