Argh....after what seems like forever, I have an interview tomorrow at a personnel company.
I don't want to settle, but at this point, anything that isn't minimum wage and involves food or drunks seems great. They usually hire for clerical positions, and I am feeling a little desperate.
The art gig isn't going to work out right now.
Anyone been to this type of interview? What can I expect?
Anyone given up on a big dream that they had a lot of investment in for awhile?

As lame as it may sound...
Try not to think of it as giving up on your dream...
instead more like a small postponement!
Almost all of my friends have been laid off within the last 6 months & I think you kind of (or must) hit a point where some amount of work is better than no work at all. It's a $$$ thing!
Maybe you can look at it this way, taking this job will allow you to have money coming in while continuing to look for your "dream job" but without have to stress about money & bills at the same time.
I hope it goes well for you tomorrow!!!
Write back & let us know, k?...
Later You,
Sarah in Portland

Hey Sarah, I have heard the market has dropped out in Portland. I am a photographer (well, sort of :) ) and heard that it is saturated with artists....but I am in Spokane, so used to that story.
How is the rest of it?
I agree about the postponement. I was hoping something advertising/media related was going to come up, or design, even if it was as a receptionist or file clerk.
But you are right. Some money is better than none. Student loans are coming due soon.

Well, I had an interview with a personnel service today and she is going to start making some calls for me!
Feel like I am making some progress.
Funny how my most valuable skill after all that education is Office.
Could have saved some money........
