Getting back on track

Ok...so I lost my ethusiasm for my job and it finally translated to my performance..so my boss chastised me...ruined whatever self esteem I had left and now I feel that soon I will be fired..


any advice?

Unless you love your job, which it sounds like you don't, start looking for a new one ASAP.

You can still smooth things over with your boss, maybe, by approaching him/her and telling him why you lost enthusiasm for your job, which led to your poor performance. If you have a good boss and they value you, chances are they'll try to make it work...maybe giving you some different things to do or introducing you to another department. At least you're making an effort and not burning a bridge this way. If it works, that should boost your self-esteem a little.
