I really need insider advice or whatever advice, lol on how to change jobs in the Federal sector. I have been in my current position for 2 years which I got right out of school through the Scholar's Program (no horrific application process, just resume). HOwever, I can't seem to figure out the whole KSA thing. If anybody has knowledge of this process or samples, I would really appreciate it. Also, if you know of any Gov't offices that provide tuition reimbursement or assistance that would be extra great!

I know that a lot of people on this website are currently unemployed, so I do realize I'm fortunate! I feel like lately I have to beg even for an interview for the most trivial of jobs.

Thank you!

I work for the federal government. I did the KSA thing to get my GS-12. However, I thought RESUMIX, the online resume program was now mandatory for moving up in the government.

What don't you understand about the KSAs? As I recall, you write one page (max) for each KSA listing your Knowledge, Skills and Abilities in that area.

Good Luck!

not sure about the KSAs... are you applying interally or externally? as far as i know, the application process is slightly different for both. For internal, you have to fill out an extra form that lists your skills and abilities (may be the KSA form?). For external, I think you can complete an application online.

I think some gov't offices provide tuition assistance/reimbursement, but sometimes it's only for positions where they have an area of need...and then you may have to go to work in that particular area when you complete your degree. That's just what I've heard but I may be wrong.
