I've contacted CCCS and Genus, and they both tell me that I do not qualify for debt consolidation! What do I do now???

I pay around $468 per month in credit card bills right now (minimums only) These credit counseling services want me to pay $761 per month to consolidate! I understand that this would be working towards paying them off, versus paying minimums, but what does someone do that can't make minimums?

I refuse to file bankruptcy and the counselors at these two places advised against it as well. I'm already on hardship programs with my creditors. What do I do now?

(parent's cannot co-sign for personal loan or consolidation loan)

ANy ideas?

I am with Debt Free. I didn't have $5000 of debt, but they accepted me when others wouldnt.

Hope that helps.

I'm with Trinity Credit. I think their website is
http://www.trinitycredit.org

I'm not sure what the minimum amount of debt is, but you can always just call & see.

I hope this helps!

It's not that I don't have enought debt. When they went through all the information I gave them, they said that I would have to pay them almost twice what I'm paying now just making minimum payments. I thought that credit counseling reduced your payments. I pay aroun $450 each month in debt, just paying minimums. They said that under their programs, I would have to pay them $761 !!! What's that about???? I asked them what advice they had for me. They said to contact my creditors myself and ask to be placed on a hardship program. I thought that's what the credit counseling services did. I'm already on hardship programs with a couple of my credit cards. What now???

Thanks,
