I told off a nurse from my physician's office over the phone. I'm never one to do that, but this lady was a complete idiot.
Hey, it felt great to stick up for myself for once.

Most interesting thing I did...was managing to stay online all day today at work, barely doing anything work related, and NOT getting caught/yelled at.

i have to say, ephphatha, bowmaking blows my mind. i'll sound stupid for saying this, but it never occurred to me that ppl actually *make* bows, as in like a craft. i wish i had hobbies as exotic as that.

Watched Devils Playground about Amish 16 year olds as they are able to go into the "english" world and decide to join the Amish church or stay in the "english" world.

That sounds really interesting. I think the Amish are fascinating. Where'd you see the movie?

Paperjam -
I will be in Raleigh. I have heard so many great things about the shows he puts on so I am excited. We don't live that far from the Alltel Pavillion so we are going to have a little party and take a cab there and back. I am getting excited! I found out a lot of other people are going too. Yay!!

Just be careful of all the screaming 16 year olds and the stoned/drunk college kids. There were riots at a DMB show a few years ago in Hartford CT (near me).

Really? I thought people were really laid back. I just wanted to sit on the lawn and drink and enjoy the show. I don't really go to a lot of concerts at big venues. I like to go see small bands at local bars. The last big concert I went to was Sade (it was absolutely amazing!!!). Hopefull all the die-hard fans bought the better tickets and the laid back people can hang out on the lawn. I guess that is where the stoners will be though!!

Oh yeah. One of the reasons that I'm not a huge DMB fan anymore is the crazy people at the shows and the "cult-like" following...when I went to college, everyone was "AHMAHGAH, I LOOOOOVE DMB!!!!!" It was so annoying.

With DMB concerts, I find it's completely worth it to purchase better seats (or in the case of SPAC, where they play around here, get inside seats and leave the lawn for the kiddies). That way, you don't have to deal with the stoners, the college drunk kids, or the teenagers who will spend the entire encore calling their parents to get an ETA on their ride home.
They're really great shows, though... DMB does a completely different show everynight...

yeah i went to DMB concert in baltimore here about 2 weeks ago and it IS crazy. i suddenly felt old at 25! there are tons of teenagers acting crazy and stepping all over you and your stuff. unfortunately we had lawn seats and couldnt get pavillion.

Wow - I don't know if I'm really that excited now!!

No, you should be... DMB really is a band that you HAVE to experience live. There are few bands that you can even compare to their performances...

I agree w/ Met.... You have to see DMB at least once...And i always shoot for the seats, but hopefully you'll still enjoy it. Though here like Jen said, the end of night drunk and stoners get a little crazy leaving...
But as for what i did today (Does 2am qualify as today?? ;) ), won $$$$ at the casino!!!!!!!

I've been to quite a few shows. And everyone was awesome!! The quality of the performance totally makes up for the obnoxious ppl. There are however quite of few fun ppl around. I've only had a real issue at one show. Some high school kid was so drunk she kept spilling beer on me from the row of seats behind us. Then she puked right behind us. I told the kids they needed to take there friend and get the hell out of there. They complied and I enjoyed the rest of the show.
As for the other shows there are your typical granola ppl, preppy college kids, original fans now in their late 20's early 30's and parents with kids.
This will be my first time in the lawn so I'm sure I'm in for quite a show....

I was reading about a new show on WB starting next week where they are taking 6 Amish people from 18-24 into the real world and exposing them...
the article went on to talk about the movie Devils Playground.
It won tons of awards at the Sundance Film Festival---so I looked it up on Blockbuster and rented it last night.
Planning on watching it again tonight.

Our local news station has a call in recorded segment. They asked viewers what there favorite casino game was. Well one guy siad his was Craps, but it sounded like he said Crack. The host said "what kind of game is that? It kills you or it doesn't"
It's the little things in life that get me thru the days. ;)

I just read a story about a lady getting eaten by an alligator. My question is: why would the lady turn her back while standing on the edge of a pond in florida where there are known alligators lurking around.....
people's common lack of common sense cracks me up.

I was up doing photography at dawn.
It really was interesting and fun, even though it was effing early. But now I'm ready for a nap.

That's how it was when I was in school, too. They're a trendy band to like. Punk music is getting to be the same way. Everyone and their mother--including my preppy, Abercrombie-wearing college-age sister--professes to be all about punk lately.
I proudly admit I listen to mostly rap and R&B, though I do rock Britney and Christina when I just want to feel like a white girl.
So off topic, but I really didn't do anything all that interesting today.

Allison, I couldn't agree more with your post!! It's so true. Punk is like the new bandwagon or something...

I know a lot of ppl who listen to rap that seem to have just jumped on the bandwagon. I think the real problem is people listening to any genre when they just "don't get it" THey have no idea what the hype is about. No idea what the lyrics are about. No clue who the musicians are and what they represent. etc.

I've only been putting this off for a year. I'll get results in 2 days.
