I don't want the promos...promos always say a movie is good. I want red meat from the public...
That is a link to my interview with Zach Braff and review of the movie, which expresses my honest opinion. Not sure what else it is you're looking for!

I saw it tonight. I thought the reviews I'd read were pretty accurate. I'd give it 3 stars out of four.

I thought Garden State was fantastic! Very related to where we are at right now in our lives. I encourage everyone to check it out. The writing and directing by Zach Braff is quality and everyone's acting is great. There are a few minor flaws or things I might improve, but overall it is funny and touching.

I thought it was pretty good. I'll give it a B. Maybe even a B+. I kind of wished they had spent a little more time at the beginning on what life was like in LA...and the ending was kind of weak. If Natalie Portman was sitting next to me crying like that...well I don't want to give it away, but if you've seen it you know what I'm saying.
Two other observations: before the movie, I had to sit through this "behind the scenes" look of Hillary Duff's newest movie, in which she says with a straight face that she really had to stretch herself for this role. This role, judging from the clips, being the same as every other movie clip I've ever seen her in. It must have been hard.
Is there anything more humiliating than going to a movie by yourself? I went to my local superdupermegaplex, expecting to sneak in and hide in the back row. I was wrong. They showed this movie in the littlest theater they had there. There couldn't have been more than 50 seats in there and they were filled with a bunch of girls and their boyfriends. I had to sit two or three rows from the front. Until the lights went down, I could literally feel everyone in that theater looking at me. It was ridiculous.

I think there are a few things more humiliating than going to a movie by yourself. (Ever realize, after walking down a busy street at rush hour, that your skirt has ridden up and exposed your panties to the world? Probably not, huh? ;) I used to think it would be embarassing, but I actually think it's a pretty good way to see a film. Ever gone to the theatre with a 'talker'? THAT's embarassing, and you end up missing the best parts. And I'm pretty sure you were much more aware of your solo status than the people around you were. They may even have thought you were there to review it.

Not recently, no. :p

Well I sure hope so. I tried to play the whole "oh, my girlfriend is in the bathroom...she'll be right in" routine. Who knows if anybody bought it considering I wasn't really buying it myself. Haha.
Why are you supposed to go to a movie with someone else? I don't get it. A movie should be the ultimate single experience, but it's one of the worst. It's not like you're supposed to be talking to someone else during the movie. I guess it just sucked because I had gone to the movie to kind of forget about all of this stuff regarding my status for a couple of hours, but instead it stared me right in the face...
