does anyone here ever get ideas for inventions? someone once told me that each person has abt 3 ideas throughout their lives that, if acted upon, would make millions of dollars.
my idea would be to somehow create programmable t-shirts, so that you can change what's written on them from day to day. it'd have a layer of pixels like an LCD screen embedded in the fibres. it's a far-out idea, i know, but i think that would be cool.
(if any of this sounds like i'm losing my mind, tell me :p )

I have a couple of ideas....I've tried to look one of them up to see if someone has a patent on it already.....couldn't find one though!
It is a type of cat scratcher.....but I don't want to tell anyone.

I just had one the other day. Maps scaled so you could use your credit card edge for the mileage (roughly). The long side would 50 miles and the short side 25. Once it caught on their would be more increments added. Thats gold. Pure genius.

wouldn't everything have to be the same scale though? i mean, the scale on the world atlas is much larger than the scale of a local street directory.

Stonemonkey-
I've got pages full of inventions...some of which I have actually begun to prototype...always looking for a critical eye to run them by to see where my designs could be refined...hmmm...
...how much is a ticket down under???

funny you mention it...one of my friends cursed me out saying that I need to stop wanting to be a 'Michelangelo'...the whole Renaissance Man notion intrigues me...actually, a large part of my QLC revolves around my NOT being able to decide what of the many things I dabble in I ought to commit myself to...
What do I want to do when I grow up??? Everything...

You would have to check the scale for each map. You wouldn't expect an inch on a city map to equal the distance represented by an inch on a world map.
City: 1 card length=2 miles
World: 1 card length=2000 miles
It wouldn't be exact but its better than trying to use your fingers.

About 5 years ago I had an idea for a programmable scrolling marquee that you could mount in the back window of your car or even put on license plate frames. Guess what the newest big invention in Tulsa is right now? I'm a freaking moron for not doing that.

I had an idea to make laundry detergent that would make your clothes and stuff static free and soft, without the need for fabric softener or dryer sheets. Guess what's been on the market for awhile now? :(

I get ideas like this all the time. My idea now is that each of you should give me about 5,000 dollars......

I once wrote an article about a guy who had invented something called the "Multi-hammer." I guess it was a whole bunch of different kinds of hammers in one, but he was really vague because the patent was still pending.
MY idea is that one day we will have devices that somehow deliver material goods to others' homes - like a fax machine, but instead of sending copies of papers, you could send a banana or a CD or a gift or whatever. How to do this, I have no idea. But I'm thinking on it, man, I'm thinking.
