View Full Version : Dilemma between work, friends and girlfriend

I am seeking advise on the age old problem of dividing my time equally between my love life, my friends and my work.

Its getting to the stage where I feel resentment from all sides. Help!?!

I work part of my week in one city and part of my week in another. I live with my parents for the mid week whilst in one of the locations and share a flat with 4 other lads for the remainder of the week and weekend.

Because I am away from both the majority of my friends and my girlfriend when I do get back to London I find myself emotionally torn between who I am spending time with.

I love my girlfriend but at times I am starting to resent the pressures she puts on me to spend all of my London time with her. Also I love my friends and am lacking love in return due to my lack of attendance socially.

Can anybody suggest good solutions/helping hands/previous experience?

Cheers

Could your girlfriend hang out with you AND your friends? That way she would be included and then you could spend some private time w/ her later.

I agree that would be great and does happen but she is from London as well and all of her friends are around so it is a constant battle to see each others groups of friends....

Her argument is that as I live my friends I see a lot of them, but I dont really due to living in 2 places and its not quality time.

Thanks for the reply
