I am curious if anyone in here works in Recruiting or knows someone that works in recruiting.

I have worked in recruiting in a corporate environment for numerous years now. I was recently called by a IT Search Firm for a recruiting position that they had to offer. I was referred to them by a former colleague. I never thought I would want to work at a search firm, but the pay could be lucrative and I would at least be able to get out of the office as compared to now where I am sitting in a cubicle all day basically just making cold calls.

So I am curious if anyone has worked in this kind of a role before. Did you like it? What are the challenges? What does it take to succeed in a role like this?

Any insights would be appreciated.

JUST DO IT!!

From what I have heard (and depending on the company) there will be some traveling. Which seems to wear people out. And there is more of a sales aspect to it. But you have sales experience....

This sounds great for you!!

If you don't want it.. can I have it??

I do think it fits many of my skills and I love reaching out to people, being at job fairs, and networking events. So I think from that stand point it would be good. My only concern would be my lack of IT knowledge and hours. I mean I can come in here and pretty much be in cruise mode, but might actually have to work in that role! ;-) Then again, can only be lazy here for so long before I go nuts or it catches up with me.

I think I will sneak away in a few minutes here and call the guy. I have a ton of questions to ask him.

Hope you are having a good day!

And yes....you can have it if I don't want it...or you can even have the position I am in now if I do want it. Just would have to move north!
