this is the hardest emotion for me to pin down and describe. it's weird, sometimes i wonder if i actually enjoy bittersweet moments that affect me. that's part of the reason why i liked 'eternal sunshine of the spotless mind' so much, it affected me in this way.
i also get this way when i have to say goodbye (http://www.quarterlifecrisis.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=5621) to someone.
anyone experienced any moments like these?

Definitely. I usually get it when I say goodbye to someone. If I know I'm not going to see them for a long time, I'll usually get a little choked up.
I got a little choked up saying goodbye to my dad when he dropped me off at the airport for my trip to Japan. I was headed off on a fantastic trip for about 2 weeks, yet I felt terrible I was leaving him behind for some reason.
Same thing happened when I returned to the states. I had a hard time leaving the friend I was visiting after having felt so close to him during the time we spent together. Yet, in a way, I was happy to be going home.
I know what you mean - I think it's kind of a good feeling to know that you care and feel so deeply.
