Has anyone been following the private spacecraft that has successful went to space and back? I think this is AMAZING! Here are guys that created their own space craft and put it "where few men have gone before." Kind of makes NASA look a little ineffecient, huh?

Do you think this will open all sorts of doorways in space exploration? Will this have ripple effects that will change our lives. Will our kids be learning about this is text books in the future?

I think its cool too. I wish it would get more press because its a pretty big deal. Paul allen, the microsoft guy footed alot of the bill. I'm not to sure about the private enterprise funding it. In one sense its good because things get done and in a timely manner. But the downside would be proprietary ownership, but I guess thats nothing new. I suppose if you foot the bill and find the geniuses to make it happen, you deserve to own it. Corporations are going to start getting into it. I saw a big advertisement for Virgin on the space ship. Does everything have to have a corporate sponsor? Lets project a big Nike swoosh on the moon, Starbucks Space station, Planet Budweiser. Why do logos have to be slathered all over everything, it makes my eyes hurt.

I think it's neat that it is done, but there is no way in hell you would get me on one of those things.....ever.

As for corporate sponsorship, Virgin is buying 5 of those ships and will be where you go to if you want to take that trip. It's the same as Delta having their logo on their planes.

Because they have the cash and to get something for their money....aka advertising.
