View Full Version : any lesbians in a qlc???
just looking for someone to relate to out there...me, 25, just moved (8 hours) away from home for the first time last july, trying to adjust to life in a new and big city while maintaining a sense of sanity.
social life...what social life? it's really really hard to meet people now, especially other lesbians who aren't lost in a relationship.
if you're in the same spot, hit me back...
Thanks for your response! Glad to know there are some folks out there not turned off by my "lifestyle" as some would say. Hopefully our generation will begin to change things, even if it is slow.
I have one friend finishing up her last year and then 2 more who are studying for the bar. They are stressed to say the least!
I actually work at U of MD, so funny to see that you could've came here. I love the university and the place itself, even though the college town environment can get old. I moved here from Cincy, so it's quite a change for me. I enjoy moving around and meeting new folks. It was out of my comfort zone to move away, and I need that to learn and grow, so it was a great decision.

Just wanted to comment that it takes awhile to adjust in a new city and find your groove. I moved to So Cal and didn't like it that much, but I always heard it takes 6-12, sometimes more to get adjusted. So don't feel discouraged. It can't feel like some place you have known for 20+ years when you have only been there a few months.
Keep your chin up.
Not to pirate your thread, but to WeirdBlake about law school...my sister hates being a lawyer but is a public defender. What kind of grades did she get?

well i haven't relocated yet, but i completely understand how you feel. even worse that people can be so cruel and ignorant. has your school been helpful in providing activities and opportunities to meet new people?

I was just teasing about the grades.
She went to the Uof Montana in Missoula. I think she rushed into school after her BA and didn't think much. A lot of family pressure. She also looked at Gonzaga in Spokane....
She worked in a private firm for awhile, but didn't like that. She is very civic minded and felt like she wasn't doing anything worthwhile. So back to public defense.
She makes me feel better about taking time off....
