Are anyone's coworkers talking non-stop about the election and the damn Bush supporters are all in smiles and jumping around now that Bush IS the winner??
I'm getting so angry and just want to run out of the office especially now that this bit of news has hit the media.

Fortunately, the only person in my work area today is one other liberal I work with. So nobody's here to mock our tears. Yes, literal tears.

If Kerry had won, I'd be happy, but I would NOT be as gleeful as some people are at work and on these boards. Maybe that's just me, I don't know. A lot of people at work are shocked.

I certainly feel like I'm in a state of shock right now. I just can't understand how people could want to keep Bush in office... And, while I don't love Kerry, that option is better that what we've got now.
People here are either feeling like I am or ecstatic that Bush won. It's like dealing with Yankee fans... they don't know how to be polite winners.

Ouch...we all can't be that bad.
Back to the topic...I'm pretty resigned to what's happened although I was hoping for a change. Let's hope this election itself will bring a change within the country.

No one's really talking about it here, but there's a few of us just depressed, so i know who voted for who. sadly i'm probally one of the most politically aware people here and that's just SAD.

The Bush supporters in my office are smirking.....the Kerry supporters are talking about how unfair this is.....but we are all getting along for the most part.
One of my friends who is a Bush supporter E mailed me a link that showed Bush on the phone with Kerry and stated Kerry conceded....
I called him and said "you have truely made me feel like my vote doesnt count or matter"
Its a joke between us....just because he knows where I stand...and he was kind enough to point out my vote helped MA give Kerry the electoral votes....
Im really sorta scared about the next 4 years. Roe Vs. Wade, 3 supreme justices to be appointed...house majority being Republican.....
AHHHHHHH.
Both elections we have voted in have been a mess.....Im really starting to hate democracy.

HAAHAH! So I should be all depressed too? Come on now...did I run on here this morning and throw up a post "BUSH WINS! YOU LOSERS!!!" No. Maybe I came on and started posting things like "SEE! I TOLD YA!! I TOLD YA HE WOULD WIN! WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!!" No....never said that either. I think my enthusiasm for another 4 years with a strong decisive leader have been very well contained on here today.
I just think that the whining "it's not fair" is pathetic. Sounds like a 6 year old. One side will always lose. Life is full of winners and losers. It is a fact. But crying that it is "not fair" every time your guy loses is a waste of energy and time. Did the Cardinals go stomping out on the field in the World Series and layed on the field kicking and screaming..."it's not fair....we should have won...it's not fair!" No...why? Maturity. They looked at the score board and said..."it is fair because they got more points." And it is fair because Bush got more electoral votes.
I am sure there are some people running around and laughing in people's faces....burning Kerry signs on lawns...and have hail to the chief blaring in their cubicles while they march up and down the aisles with a Bush sign. But I am not doing that and I am disappointed that you would say so.
Both elections we have voted in have been a mess.....Im really starting to hate democracy.
This election was a mess? It didn't really look like it to me. If the results were exactly the same and Kerry won 51-48 in the popular would you be saying it was a mess? Of course not. you voted...you had your say. Be proud of that. Others had their say too. It just so happened that this week, more states and the people within those states, via our electoral process, have said Bush is our man. Isn't this better than having no say or opportunity? What will gloom and negative feelings do to make anything better?

I'm so disappointed & upset that Bush won. I regretted not voting the last time, & I was so pysched that I went to the voting polls yesterday voting for the first time ever for Kerry. After watching Moore's documentary & reading Kerry's issues I went for Kerry. I had a good feeling Kerry was going to pull it off, but once I saw the Florida went w/ Bush as well as Ohio I pretty much knew it was over. Then I hear from watching the news that Kerry is conceding & will make his speech later in the afternoon. I can't stand Bush, however my mom was all out for him 4 yrs. & she's still supporting him now. I call Bush a murderer for what he has down in Iraq. So upset right now!!

I don't think MOS was trying to say that the result was unfair. She was just trying to say that she felt it was unfair for her co-workers to gloat about it.
Of course the result was fair. He got more votes so he should be elected. Thats the way it goes. However, I feel like the sentiment among the "losers" is that it is difficult to be in the minority, especially since we have been waiting for a change all this time and your voice isn't heard in the way you hoped it would. Obviously, we are allowed to be disappointed and upset.

Let's play devil's advocate for a minute. If Kerry had won, would people rush to gloat in the faces of Republican supporters?

No way. Where I work, you don't bash candidates... period. Especially when you work for a Republican. You keep your mouth shut.

For the most part, I don't think its that great an idea to discuss politics at work, unless you work in politics.
