anyone want to start a twentysomething support group in the Dc metro area? I am specifically in Arlington. Or maybe I could be directed to one that already exists.
Currently my "support group" consists of friends who make more money, have better relationships, travel more, and enjoy their jobs.
So I feel stupid when I whine about my issues, it would be nice to know some others who are having a difficult time right now. I feel we could use the group to network, make new friends, present ideas and make suggestions to those seeking it.
I know there are plenty of other twentysomethings in the area seeking someone to listen and maybe help solve a work or social problem.
Drop me an email if your interested. Peace.

Joe, there is a DC support group, but trying to get people to show up to an event isn't easy (see this thread (http://www.quarterlifecrisis.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=5865) for example).
If you have ideas for an event, I'm all ears :)

I am in alexandria! count me in if yu start something...
my only suggestion is that you set a meeting place that is accessible to both metro and parking.

oss, tryst is a great place, but Adams Morgan is not exactly near a metro or parking... How about Ballston/Courthouse area, or Pentagon City? there are a ton of places around there...

Re: Tryst-Take the Red line to Woodley Park and walk over that bridge that goes over Rock Creek. It's not that bad of a walk. :)

I'd rather have a 10-minute walk from Metro in the city than in the middle of suburbia.
Maybe, we can rotate gatherings between DC, VA, and MD.

I don't either, but having seen the new shops that were just put up right near Gallery Place, I'd imagine there should be something in the area.

I'll come to DC! :) It is the general metro area I am bitter about, and I'm not exactly up for trekking out to WV or Richmond either.
Aren't there a million starbucks's and other suck type places around the gallery place area?

Nobody's trekking out to WV or Richmond. :)

Methinks there is one up the street from the MCI Center.
ETA: I just noticed the typo. Make your own joke (hee!)

the MCI center is much more reasonable a commute than WV or Richmond.

Ok guys... how about this location:
7th & H
800 7th Street NW
Suite 305
Washington, Washington DC 20001
(202) 289-1576
Not original, but the best scouting I can do from my desk in Old Town. Also, walking distance from the Gallery place metro stop, which is close to like 4 lines. and walking distance from the MCI center, etc. pretty much a central location.
