I really enjoyed Domino Ralley's, my She-Ra Castle, but I can't decide...
One year I got a pogo Stick, another year I got my bicycle.

Remember Pogo Balls?
I think my best xmas present was a pet bunny rabbit! And my sister got a kitty.

When I was 5, santa brought me a Dream Dancer.
( a little ballerina on a round thing that danced ballet-like )

A Shetland pony.
Yes, I was that kid. But before you go thinking I was a spoiled child, note that my dad got him for $100 and taking some of the cost off a roofing job he did, and also note that the pony was 25 years old and died in three years.
Still, awesome present.

At first I read this incorrectly as "died in three days" and I thought, how horrible!! At least you had three years of pony-fun.

Hah! No, he wasn't quite THAT old and decreppit!
And, yeah, it was fun to have him. We had him from when I was about 8 until I was about 11. He was cool.

the teenage mutant ninja turtles are back on tv & all over the toy stores. my 4 year old nephew loves play ninja turtles. i don't particularly care for the fighting so i always suggest ninja turtles gardening- where we pretend to be the turtles while gardening. he actually accepts this a legit game.
i have to say the best gifts were the orginal nintendo when it first came out & skis. also, cabbage patch kids. my sister & i always joke about how the year before we got the real ones we got generic, home-made cpk & in the photos we look sad playing with them. the next year when we got out real ones, we are ecstatic in all the photos.

ninja turtles gardening? i'm not sure how that would work.
and yes, old school nintendo ruled, as did super mario bros. there used to be this cartoon abt nintendo.

i remember it with kid icarus. i love super mario 3. could play for days.
ninja turtles gardenig entails tilling the soil, planting fruit & vegetables & eating them then we go fight shredder to find splinter, who has captured.

kid icarus! yes! there was a princess too (there's ALWAYS a princess)
man, it's a pity there was no He-Man cooking or smurfs 'take the garbage out'.

sm - good suggestions. only it'd have to be the power rangers cuz no kids have the opportunity watch smurfs or he-man anymore.

no there's new he-man! just like how there's a next-generation TMNT cartoon out now, there's a new he-man!

awww...chrisp..that's a nice story.
just thought i'd throw out a few more fun toys we had as children (or toys we wanted):
garbage pail kids (collectible cards!)
rainbow brite
my little pony
legos
he-man, she-ra, and skeletor
transformers
stone - TMNT rocked!!!!!!!! i didn't get into that until i was in middle school (yeah i watched cartoons up through HS), mainly because my younger cousin loved them and got all the toys. i thought they were pretty cool. LOVED the theme song!
my fav christmas present? it was actually a surprise. sadly most of my christmas presents i can't even remember. but this one i will never forget and i still remember how happy i was when i got it. it was the oh-so-lovable POPPLE!!!! my parents told me that year that they could get me other things i wanted/needed but they just didn't have enough money that year for the popple. and then they surprised christmas day!!! it was the last present and i was too thrilled!!!!! so that is by far my fav present ever! still have the yellow popple..won't ever give it up.

ah, yes rainbow brite. i asked for her one xmas & got a blue sprite instead. parents thought it was l rainbow brite.
one year, i wanted this talking doll, baby heather, so bad. more than i wanted anything to this day. well, i got her. she was so heavy (with all her D batteries) that i dropped her that day & her head broke off (wires were still attahed). same year, i got baby talk(another blonde baby day that talked). my ferrets chewed off her nose & my barbies feet. ok, this was not supposed to turn into xmas letdowns.
so on a good note- love my 1st barbie, peaches & cream & my 1st my little pony, cotton candy. oh, the barbie ferrari, corvette & jeep were all great gifts.
few years ago i got a trip to anywhere i wanted. i chose to do a glacier mountaineering outward bound trip in alaska. that was pretty awesome.

What is sad is that I actually still have one of these and it is hooked up to our TV "for the kids" Yes Myself, and my roommates have been known to sit up all night and Play SUper Mario 3. Whats really sad is that we still haven't beat it yet.
My best christmas present. I was a tomboy. I loved GI JOE. My parents had been telling me for months that I couldn't have the GI JOE Jeep because I was a girl. (not that I didn't already have a million GI JOEs anyway) Christmas morning I got the jeep. I don't remember being that excited about something since then.

You have a working Nintendo! That's rare. I have a Nintendo, but it's the model that loads on top, not like the one you have. Most of those had a spring defect, resulting in that fun blinking screen, where we would all blow into the system, thinking the games would work again. My top loader doesn't use a spring, so it works very well.
And beating Super Mario 3, is fun! I still play those games too, so I don't think it's sad at all! Love game nights.

The spring is defective. We just figured out that if you hook up the game genie to it. The game genie makes the game stay down so that it doesn't blink.

My brother's old Nintendo has the worn out spring...sigh. Sometimes it works, though. The only game I can beat, then, as now, was the original Super Mario Bros.

you could probably find an old game genie cheap at a used game store. If you put the game on it them insert it into the machine it will hold the game in place. You don't have to actually use any genie codes. Also for a while my grandmother (yes grandmother) wuld get stiff card board and roll it up thick enough to shove in there to hold the game down so she could play. She was all about some Dr. Mario until she couldn't see it very well any more

My best present was a hamster. It was my first pet. Since my dad stopped at Wal-mart on a trip to my grandmother's house to get it, I got it before Christmas. It died the day after Christmas. I got a "replacement" from a pet store when we got home.
