For exactly the reason MetFan said, only reversed! In my experience, many of the girls were duds who had no real interest in it but who were doing it as a favor to the organizers to boost the numbers.

I've tried just about everything else EXCEPT speed dating. Is that what it's come to?

I've done this several times (last few for free since the organizer needed more guys). Have to definately agree with WB it is a waste of time for guys. I'm not sure what it is about the females at these events but they're hyper-picky (to put it mildly). Guys can put down almost everyone they meet at the event and not get any matches.

Lastly many of the people at these events seem to be the types that like "playing games" so to speak - I guess what do you expect the whole thing is set up like a game.
