Is anyone losing their hair? If so, have you tried anything to help keep it from falling out and/or help with regrowth.

I've gone to see my doctor and they can't seem to find why this is happening to me. I've tried Rogaine for women and am currently using the Nioxin line of shampoos and conditioners. I also colored my hair about 2-3 weeks ago and the hair fallout seems to have gotten worse. I'm at a loss.

stress, vitamin deficiency, too much blowdryer? also try going on the pill, the hormones halt hair loss

None of those things apply and I'm on the pill. :(

Yeahhhh- try Pre-natal vitamins, your hair will grow like a weed.

My brother starting losing his hair at a REALLY young age, say 22ish. He has money, so he had some of the hair on the lower back of his head taken out and replanted in the front. I kid you not. I never knew until my sister told me, so it doesn't look bad at all.

It's just so embarassing that I have been losing my hair. I've thought about the hair replacement thing, but I can't afford that. I would just like to know why, but no one can give me an answer. I guess I can attribute it to heredity, but no one on my mother's side has had hair loss and my father is now starting to lose his hair in this 50's. Maybe I should try pre-natals!

WOW!! I am not the only one!!! I am sure it is stress related though. Try biotin also - I heard that should also stimulate hair growth.

Good luck!

I've got some biotin in my multi-vitamin, but perhaps a separate supplement of it may be helpful. Some days I think that shedding is going to finally stop, then the next thing you know, it's falling out left and right! What drives me more nuts is that I fork out the cash to go see a specialist and get no where.

I guess I'll try some biotin, as a separate supplement. We'll see!

Has your doctor checked you for alopecia?

Yes, I've been checked for everything under the sun. They are hardpressed to call it alopecia because my family doesn't really have signs of it.

Not to freak you out, but there is such a thing as Female Pattern Baldness. I believe it's a recessive gene that carries it, so it might not necessarily be evident in your family. But wait, didn't you say you tried Rogaine?

Yes, I know all about female pattern baldness and have tried rogaine with no avail. I have used rogain for a year and a half and had no results in even stopping hair loss.

I do often think it's stress, even though I have nothing to stress about, but I'm great at creating my very own!

How are yous so sure your bro's hair loss is from stress and diet? The reason I ask is that people have a tendency to blame all sorts of things for hair loss except genetics, which is probably the single greatest factor in hair loss.
