Staying in Key West

Hey all,

I'm planning to go to Key West for the day, are there any hostels or somewhere cheap to stay at? I'd settle for a shack, but I don't want to pay $100 for a budget room. I wanted to stay overnight, but man that's a bit much for a one day getaway.

There are a lot of nice hotels that are not directly on that island... I haven't been there in awhile but I remember that fact...

You could try a Bed and Breakfast.... there are some really cute, historic ones on the island. They're not usually too expensive.

I went there last Feb and had a great time. There are a bunch of B&B's that aren't on the main drag that are relatively cheap. I'm sure Key West prob. has a chamber of commerce or a tourism website where you could get more info.

I stayed at the Hampton Inn two July 4th's ago and it was def under $100. I think it was around $70 and that was a HUGE weekend to be in Key West. AND it's right on Key West, not too far from Duval St. where all the action is. I rented a moped and it took like 3 minutes to drive to Duval St. from there.
