Hot water problem

I've posted this in a vent thread before but it is getting really annoying now. I live in a private house that was converted into 3 apartments. I've never had any problems before but it seems now that one of the guys upstairs got a girlfriend who gets ready for work now at the same time I do,which translates there is never any hot water for my necessary morning shower (I can't shower the night before and feel refreshed and awake for work in the morning). I know this is a sensitive issue. I don't want to create problems, but it is really annoying waking up on a freezing NY morning and not being able to have a hot shower!!! I figure it must be the g.f. because I've never had any problems before with the guys and the woman in the apartment upstairs, I know she gets ready the night before because this came up in a conversation once. Ideas anyone?

I'm a little comfused, does she get ready the same time as you or the night before as stated in the conversation?

2 ideas though:

1 - get up 15 minutes earlier if the warm shower is that important

2 - clearly the hot water heater is not big enough for the number of apartments, bring it up to your landlord

Why should I get up earlier? That is an inconvenience to me by someone who doesn't even live there. I probably will address it with the landlord, not that he will do anything. Reason # 582 I cannot wait to move out of Sh&^#y-A$$ Queens.

I agree with nat.

Get up 15-20 min earlier and make sure SHE'S the one with no hot water for her shower :) I know it sucks having to go out of your way for her but...

Do you get along with the guys? Is it possible to talk to them?

I would check your facts before you start telling people what they can/can't do.

How do you know he doesn't get up early with her so they can shower together?

It sucks, but beating her up to the shower isn't a permanent solution... just do it for like 2 weeks, she'll get the idea, then you can take your time!
