What's a typical date night for you?
(what do you and your S.O. do for fun)

What's a fun but realistic date night that you've had?

---Need ideas, been doing the usual relax movie nights and go out to dinners which are great but looking for some new ideas !

Pretty much dinner then coming home and going to sleep. Boring for many, but exciting and fun for me these days. I guess we are getting old............

Where do you live, TennisPlayer? Here in New England, there isn't much to do in the winter...but what about indoor arcades/bowling/skating rinks type things?

A good date night for me is doing something fun & active instead of sitting down over dinner or something & just talk. To me I feel awkward & being in a spot.

This is pry boring,

But we like to start a video game and play it. We'll take turns. You pass the controller when you die or have cleared a level. We also do like going to parks to walk a bit, or shopping, movies, dinner, swimming....cooking is a fun one too.

My cousin and her fiance have Date Nights on Tuesday. It's just them two (no roommates), dinner at home, and they rent a new release from Blockbuster. I tried to make plans with her once on a Tuesday and she looked at me like I was crazy.

I go on ski dates (I live in New England too) and beach dates. I've been on swing dancing dates, too.

-go to the airport and watch the planes take off over some burgers and milkshakes.

-cooking together

-it's not so much a date but...i like it when one of us has a million errands to do and the other just tags along for the ride. somewhere throughout the day, food is involved.

(can you tell we're a food couple and yes, we both workout regularly)

-drive out to the nearest city landmark and take a tour. chances are you havent been to it before or neither of you have been in YEARS. i like the ontario science center, the ROM, the zoo etc.

I'm a fan of cooking dinner with somebody, but it doesn't work well unless it's somebody you're familiar with (not a great first date idea, say), and he likes to cook, too. I think it's fun, it's a project, and then you get to enjoy a nice meal together. And maybe go for ice cream.

One fun date-type thing that I had wasn't so much a traditional date as it was showing somebody I was interested in around the city, where he'd never been...hitting some cultural stuff, grabbing a burger in a kitschy tavern, watching people ice skate, popping in some stores, seeing the landmarks...that kinda thing. Sorta amateur tour, sorta adventure...but it's always fun to share something that's new to somebody...and have them share something with you, too.
