My name is Sheba R. Wheeler and I'm a features reporter at The Denver Post. I'm writing an article about the uncertain economic times requiring more baby boom generation parents to help out their adult kids financially until they can successfully get on their feet.

More individuals (roughly recent college graduates between the ages of 22 and 27) are hounded by student loan debt, credit card debt, high costs of housing (especially in Denver) and low-paying first jobs that offer few if any benefits. Many folks are moving back in with mom and dad for a few months or a couple of years to save money for a down payment on their own house or pay off debt. Sociologist say the occurrence has become so regular, that the age someone becomes an adult in today's world is more like 26 instead of 21 because it takes most people that much longer to become financially independent.

I'm looking for families and people in Colorado who are experiencing this and are willing to talk to a reporter about this issue. Are you back on your Mom and Dad's health insurance because that first job out of school doesn't have benefits? What's it like being back home again when you are technically an adult...do your parents respect your space or place demands on you? Do you know of anybody else who is in this situation even if you aren't?

Please email me or call me at 303-820-1283. Thanks and I look forward to talking to you.
