Experiences with Half.com

Hi all
I am contemplating purchasing a couple books from Half.com but before I did I wanted to get an idea on the experiences that people have had with the site. Any comments, opinions, and suggestions would be much appreciated.

I've bought textbooks from there before and I had a pretty good experience. Although with one person who had like thousands of great comments never delivered my book so demanded a refund. Other than that one experience, I haven't had any problems. And I love selling my books back there because you get so much more than what your school bookstore would pay you for your book.

I've been really happy with the site, although plan to pay $2- $4 extra for shipping (per book, since they often come from different sellers, but most sellers combine shipping)

even with the shipping though, my experience is that the books end up being significantly cheaper than at borders or something. they charge so freakin much for books these days (10-20 bucks for a PAPERBACK) whose idea was that ? :mad:

It's not as cheap as the library though. :)

That is true. A book that I am planning to buy I actually have requested to get from another library but I am feeling a bit impatient and I want to read the book ASAP yet don't want to pay 14.95 when I could buy the book (with S&H) for 6.00. My sister works at Borders and I couldn't get a better deal than the one on half.com.

Half.com rocks. I've never bought textbooks, but I have gotten CDs from there for like $3 or so.

I've gotten books & videos on half.com & I like that site. It's perfect if you don't mind getting used books or don't want to pay full price, this site is for these people. Plus the shipping isn't bad compared to other sites.
