Nothing much here yet. My boyfriend is currently asleep in my bed. I have to work all day but we might go get some dinner later tonight. The boyfriend hinted about something coming to my office today though :huge: :huge: :huge: .

...trying not to shoot myself.
Not really, but I really hate this day. I think I've been dumped like 5 times in the two weeks prior this godforsaken holiday.
I think Lewis Black said it best when he said around this time you look at your wrist and think "maybe I should slit them, because then I might see some color."

Nothing today, because I celebrated over the weekend. :)

My girlfriend loves Disney princesses, so I got her one of those 32 pack of vday cards that you give to your classmates in little kid school of disney princesses. I filled each one out with something that I like about her and hid them around her apartment last night when she was at work (she works overnights as a nurse). She should be getting home soon, so she might start noticing them or she might fall right asleep

That is so sweet!
On Sunday my valentines (yea I had THREE) went shopping and I splurged. I figured I know what I will like the best! Tonight I'm renting a movie with them and ordering pizza. Who needs men on Vday? Not me! (Although it would be nice)

Ditto. But I am going to my parents' for dinner tonight. My mom is making turkey, so I'm thinking we're having Thanksgiving on Vday. WOOT!

We're just going to pick up Chinese tonight when he gets home from work and rent a movie. Nothing out of the ordinary, but I start a new job tomorrow and need to chill tonight.
I was thinking about surprising him by making dinner, but I don't think I'm up to it.

I don't celebrate this holiday. It's against my religion. J/k. A bunch of friends from church are just going to the movies to celebrate Singlehood! I have never celebrated this holiday. I don't see the point. It was fun in elementary school when we had those little valentine cards to give to everyone but that's it. I like the day after Valentine's day. That's when all the stores mark the chocolate at least 50% off. :)
On a side note. My birthday falls exactly 9 months and one day after Valentine's day. That's gross to just think of it.... ewww!!!

Yeah, I went to dinner w/ a bunch of GFs on Saturday night... we were loud, obnoxious, and totally stole all the cute waiters, bartenders and the maitre'd from the couples there. It was a lot of fun!
Tonight, I'm going to the gym and going home. It's just a regular Monday night.

Not doing a thing. Maybe will go wander around some stores and see how many attractive single ladies are buying ice cream and renting sappy movies. :-)

I got Greg a card and the Whitman's Sampler big heart box of chocolates ( I Like having the little diagram that shows what they are).
All I know is that Greg got me something from "Pea in a Pod" maternity clothes store! I'm super excited! I hope it's little underwear that say "Knocked Up" on the butt!
We'll probably just get some take-out. I love him!

no plans really. i think tonight i'll pick up some takeout or something and we'll just chill.
i'm really feeling like this is 100% the dumbest holiday ever. weird because in the past i've never felt that way. this year it just seems so pointless. we're not exchanging gifts or anything... and i am pretty glad about that.

it is just a regular monday for me. i always have mondays off & usually sit around on my ass. today, being the day that you aren't supposed to go outside alone, gives me even more reason no to leave the house.
there is a free meditation class tonight that i may go to. beats staying home alone with 5 cats, while my mom goes out with her soon to be ex. i briefly thought about grabbing something to eat at i restaurant that i normally have no problem going to alone, but i really don't feel like being the only person alone there. i hate that because there is this holiday, in which couples are celebrated, that i don't feel comfortable being out alone.
plus side, i got a v-day coupon for the local sex shop here & i may have to use it. i don't feel like talking t the women who work there; there are always so up in your business - "so what's the special occasion?" "do you work in retail, too?" (eyeing my work badge) "i can put batteries in any of those if you'd like to see how they work"

I got Allison some chocolates and a unicorn stuffed animal (because she likes girly stuff like unicorns), and she got me some chocolates and a nice bottle of red wine. Oh, and a NASCAR calendar. I did need a calendar, after all. :huge:
Overall, it was a nice, sweet Valentine's Day... especially considering it was my first V-Day ever during which I had a gf to celebrate with.

Well, I didn't have any plans until last friday. I met this cute guy on Friendster and after only 2 amazing emails I asked him out for Friday. We met, had a great time and by the end of the night, we were holding hands and being all cuddly.
He asked me when he could see me again and I said 'What are you doing Monday?" He was hoping I'd ask so
I got a hot date tonight! Whoo hoo!
(Gotta do my 'I'm the shiz!" dance)

Heather, maybe he got you some pants??? ;) Do they really have undies like that there???
I'm not into the huge fanfare--it was great, we ate dinner that I cooked, spent time together, and went shopping. That's the perfect thing for me.

I saw the underwear in my epregnancy magazine. I thought they were cute. Believe me, I feel SO far from sexy right now, but cute little underwear sound nice.
Jen, I am so jealous of your potential thanksgiving dinner. It sounds SO good.
My mom got me some maternity clothes from Old Navy, thanks MOM! She just told me yesterday that she showed REALLY early. At least it makes sense.

yesterday, i read an article in the paper about a local couple who met online. they e-mailed back & forth & finally met 3 weeks ago. they are getting married today. he quit he job & moved. the part that stuck out the most for me was the woman's mother was worried that he was gonna take her for all she's worth. the woman's response was great:" i live in a trailer. what is he gonna take?"
interesting stat also from yesterday's paper - 12% of recently married and engaged couples met online.
wait a sec . . . you met someone on friendster? that is interesting. all i ever do on there is check out what people are doing that i have lost touch with.

Those are cute though :) Are you into eating again? Or does everything make you sick? I really hope it's Thanksgiving-ed out tonight. YAY. My mom was flat for the longest time when she was PG, then one day, she just POPPED and had no clothes. LOL

It's pretty much a normal day for me. After work I have to head to Walmart for some things and groceries so maybe I'll meet me a hottie there...maybe not :googly: After that it's home to spend time with the one who appreciates me the most -- my cat. I'm feeling super good though this Vday even if I'm single. I'm still riding the euphoria of almost finally being done with my thesis plus one of my friends and her b/f who have been having relationship issues had a huge drunken ugly scene on saturday night (I wasn't there but talked to him). Just makes me think that sometimes it is better to be single.

Just another Monday for me. It's my movie night because I don't like Monday tv, so I'll either be watching the Sweet Hereafter or some depressing Czech movie.
My sister and I always exchange presents. I sent hers so it would arrive on Saturday, she called me on Friday asking what I wanted. I'll probably end up getting it sometime in March.
Oh - and tomorrow during lunch I will head to Target for the "day after 50% off" shopping. I'm looking to get some of those pretty pink rose decorative things and a box of Dove chocolates.

It's a pretty typical monday for me - no SO, so I'll probably just go home and chill out and watch tv. Valentine's day doesn't really bother me, but I have to say I was jealous when a girl in my office who's seeing this new guy got TWO bouquets of flowers. First he sent her some pretty tulips in the morning, and then after lunch she got a huge bouquet of roses :frustrate .

I'd actually come up with that idea on my own for a special someone on my mind. Except that I was thinking rather than a specific type, just the first pack I saw when I walked into the store. That way the sacarine comments could be interspersed with humour should it be spongebob squarepants or somthing.
Oh but then midterms hit...blah...... so much work these days

On another thread I mentioned that the bed and breakfast I had reserved had had a fire, so I was looking for Vday ideas. I ended up finding something pretty cool, We went on a horse and carriage ride at one of the local colleges that was doing it for a fundraiser for their equestrian team. They had a dessert buffet and candles and whatnot after the ride. Then we went out to dinner at the restaurant where we had our first date, and then we went back to her apartment and watched The Daily Show. All and all a pretty good Valentine's Day.
