Especially after a long weekend off. Ugh, I have a meeting with those wretched court-mandate people today who will probably tell us "What we aren't doing for the client". GRRRRRRRRRR!!!! The only good thing is it is a short week for me, and I am out of the office for training all day Thursday. I did volunteer to work in another program Sat. nite though  . Why don't YOU want to go to work today?

This could possibly sound pathetic but my reason every week for not wanting to go into work is to spend more time with my bf. I miss him :( I work early, leaving around 7 am and getting home around 5 pm. He works 3 pm -9 pm. I'm in bed by 11 pm. So we NEVER see each other, and we live together. I just want a week vacation with him!

I'm in the middle of planning Career Day for my Kindergarten thu 2nd graders. No one wants to come talk to these kids. I'm sick of almost begging people and I hate this whole activity. So I'm going to hate this job for the next month  :frustrate

So many reasons... I'm going to be punished for using a personal day yesterday, the lecture that i'm sure is coming at some point this afternoon, the sheer boredom that is my job, and the office politics to name a few.
Just have to keep telling myself, interview tomorrow interview tomorrow...

Why don't YOU want to go to work today?
too busy fantasising about my company going the way of Enron and Arthur Andersen.
I wish Rosie the Riveter, Gloria Steinem, etc had all been born long AFTER I died. I know Rosie's fictional. shut up.
traffic sucks.
wearing nylons sucks.
our cheapass client doesn't even give us free coffee.
we ALL wear black suits and we look like ridiculous preppy clones. wearing suits sucks.
too tempting to kick the ass of the moron guy (just got demoted from manager) that I made all those mean posts about.
would rather spend the time with my boyfriend, who looks just adorable when he's sleeping.
would rather spend the time sleeping.
would rather spend the time at the dentist getting my teeth drilled.
would rather spend the time making my new anti-feminist website about how to escape the careerwoman track and have a life.
I used to have these things called "hobbies"... I miss them.
Same complaints I always have really.
GOOD LUCK COLL! :D

I got asked if I was "busy chatting" today when I was EMAILING A FORMER PROF ASKING FOR A RECOMMENDATION TO GRAD SCHOOL. WTF??? My FUCKING dumbass boss thought I was IMING. I DON'T DO THAT ANYMORE. I was told NOT to do it. Since WHEN does hotmail look like IM???????
I almost wish I get told that I can't work part time in the fall when I'm going back to school....just so I can get the FUCK out of here.

Hey Pisces! If it's that awful, look into taking out loans to live on for the school year. It could make your life much more bearable, especially with the stress of school. I know that the debt is awful, but I almost had about 20 breakdowns because of work combined with school. Keep us posted!!!!

I don't think I actually have a reason...I just didn't have the motivation to come in to work today. I got out of the shower, got dressed, and then sat on my bed reading for 10 minutes. !?! What on earth is wrong with me? I just didn't want to come in to work...am I broken?! :huge:

I am MAJORLY having one of those days. I know I'm not going to be productive whatsoever. For the first time in a long time, I could not, for the life of me, get out of bed (I felt like I was forcing myself to get up and go to high school!). Today's just already off to a bad start, I know it. At least I have Lost to look forward to....

Thanks DC... here's hoping it went well !
As for today; just like any other day, not wanting to get up early, hear petty complaints, and nitpicking coworkers...

I do that a couple times a week... Now I am not saying I'm normal, but I am saying you aren't the only one.
I think for me it is some control thing, like my job will not devour my life because even if it's just for a few minutes, I can do something I enjoy before and after, the point of the morning is not get out of bed and rush to the office.

I actually WANTED to be at work today. I've been out sick the last 2 days so I needed a change of scenery. I think getting up and getting ready for work really helped. Plus being around people makes me feel less antisocial.
:huge: and happy anniversary elyse and david!!! :huge: (you should get him on these boards too)

Winney, it's coming to that. I'm so fed up with work that I didn't even go IN today and I have only 5 hrs of sick time until July. I might not even be able to work part time at my reg. job anyway--they have to see how things go. I really hope they say NO. Why can't I work a low stress, who gives a shit job at like Barnes and Noble or something???? I really don't care how many books are processed out of the library to our off site facility. I don't care about making sure they are all barcoded and that I'm keeping good stats on how many I've looked at, how many call #'s I've fixed, etc.
I do have money for most of school saved...it's just having something else to do and a little spending money and benefits that I would continue working at the big Y.
I think my school offers health care for full time students...you know, it's sad that I'm going to school to get a degree so I can fight for health care for EVERYONE yet I have to effing worry about it while I'm in school!!!

I didn't want to come in today because I have NO work to do. Its been at least 2 months since I've had any significant amount of work. Somebody shoot me..I am bored.
Also, the work they have been giving me is all stuff the sales people are too lazy to do themselves. Granted, I'm thankful for the work, but would really like to use my brain its starting to feel like cobwebs are growing up in there.

I don't want to go to work because of the office politics that sometimes is amazing. Plus in an office full of women there is drama. Thankfully I'm in sales so if it gets to stressful I can leave out and go sell.

Hey Pisces. I know your feeling. One of my friends is a doctor, well a resident now. She always used to complain that she could barely afford her birthcontrol as a student but all the patients she saw got it covered by the state for free from Medicaid. I know that is bad to say, especially coming from a *GASP* Social Worker, but there are tons of problems with our system, healthcare being the biggest one of them. One of the biggest things that pisses me off about going to work is I barely make much more then a lot of my clients. It's really depressing. And a lot of them have much nicer and bigger apartments then I do!!!! Hell, I live in an ILLEGAL BASEMENT apartment for Pete's sake!!!!

ok i definitely DIDNT go into work today, due to the crappy roads even though federal gov't is open. Im glad my boss is really understanding, because i'm not about to drive an hour to work when its supposed to get WORSE later on...and then have to worry about getting home.
I mean i'm being reasonable about it right? I NEVER take off work, so the fact that i feel completely unsafe going makes it ok. Oh and not to mention that i've had nothing to do all week as well.

That's your fault. It was YOUR choice to go to college and get a job, YOUR choice to stay out of jail, YOUR choice not to have 7 illegitimate children that you couldn't provide for by different men...
Our system sucks.

I did go into work today early at 5 AM but left after a half day. I just took a half day for personal reasons so I would still get paid. I figured no sense in wrecking my car on the drive home when I can just use some of my accumulated time.
Normally I don't mind work so much. I have my moments of boredom but overall it's a decent job. I rarely get hassled for anything. I just chug away all day doing my daily work and special projects later in the day. All in all my days fly by pretty fast. The only things that annoy me are not making more money (and I think that's a complaint we all have) and basically listening to all the rumors about our plant being closed. I hear new rumors all the time by folks who have no idea what they are talking about. It just annoys me because us little folk have no say in when and if our plant is closed so just suck it up and do your job and if you want to leave or think things are going bad then start looking for another job.
