Official Challenge Rules
The main point of the challenge is to workout consistently according to your own activity level and schedule, and to follow a healthy eating plan. Teams choose what is considered healthy eating. Each team picks one healthy food habit to pick up each week, then sticks to it, that is considered healthy eating. EX: If your entire team decides in Week 1 to start taking vitamins, you do it, then you get the point. Then the next week you keep with the vitamins, then maybe agree to eat salads 2 days a week, something like that.

Points are awarded for:
1) Posting your weekly workout plan[2 points],
2) Each workout you stick to [5 points]
3) Stick to Healthy Eating Plan [1 point /day]
4) Bonus workout - 1 allowed per day. >30mins of consecutive physical activity at your current fitness level. [2 points]
5) You must take at least one day off - no workout bonus points granted for mandatory day off

Everyone is divided into teams of 5 and the teams will compete against each other for the most points. Each team has the option to create a team fitness thread to post weekly workout schedules. Each team should come up with a Team Name & nominate a Team Captain.

Contestants should post their workout schedules weekly and report back to their team captains after they have completed the workouts (report daily, every other day . .. after you get back from a weekend out, etc).

There will be two types of Bonuses: team and individual. These bonuses will be varying amount of points. An example of a individual bonus would be: Try a healthy food you have never had before, report back if it was good. Points: 5

what if your workout plan is lesser than another persons? Like Paige, you have a life, and you are able to work out 6 hours a week. Me, not even! Try 2-3 hours. Do you get more points than I?

AWESOME! I am looking forward to this because I think the key thing I have been lacking was an accountability factor...which I think this team will provide. I think it will be good to have people cheering you on...people to share struggles with...and people to hold you to your goals.

So are we starting a new thread Team 5? Or emailing? Or having a live chat session? Or what? I think our team name should be "The Winners" ;-)

When does this contest end? Is it a month long?

I was thinking 6 weeks? Is that ok?

DC- yes I would technically get more points than you, but that is what your team is for, since the winning team will be a combined total. FOr instance it is quite possible that although I work out 6 hours a week, I have a team mate who can only work out 1 hour total a week. It balances.

ADDENDUM TO OFFICIAL RULES

If, for whatever reason, you feel you you are unsatisfied with your team, you may either finish the challenge on your own, or if another team will accept you, join another team. If you join another team, we will take 80% of your scores to account for the extra person.

How about 8 weeks? Seems silly for a month and a half...why not two full months...I would even be in favor of a 90 day run...or is that too long?

Paiger...

If a person changes teams...do all of their previous points go with them? Or do they only contribute points to their new team from that point forward? Meaning past points prior to the transfer stay with the previous team.

Past points, prior to the transfer, stay with the previous team.
Also, I'm not encouraging anyone to switch teams, please use team jumping as a last resort.

And please speak to your team captain if you're even remotely PO'd! :)

Paige, I have a question about vitamins... My plan is very vitamin-intensive, since i need to boost my immune system. It looks like I will be taking about 4 different vitamins a day, not to mention drinking lots and lots of green tea. If you have a vitamin freak on your team, do you get more points for that?

I think the vitamins would count as your healthy eating plan. I need a co chair to help me make these decisions :frustrate

I nominate Mid20 or Heather. (since they really shouldn't be trying to lose any weight right now, they can be impartial. Come this fall, if they do want to lose weight, I'll set up another fitness challenge where they can be included.)

It's tough work, but I think you ROCK for putting this together. Thanks Paige!

Ok, there will be a Decision Committee that will vote on any further clarifications. They will also help in creating Bonus Challenges. Midtwenty has accepted, and I'm still waiting on the other 2 to respond.
