I have sort of oily hair (starts out normal, but it totally starts to get oily by the end of the day).
I need to find a shampoo that doens't leave any residue or gunk in my hair and will prevent it from getting oily.
I have probably tried like 10 different ones recently, and none of them work :(
Any suggestions?

Treseme, all the way. I always use Treseme shampoo and conditioner. They have a good Deep Cleansing shampoo - also works wonders on dogs, horses, and delicates you need to wash by hand.

I am not a girl who sticks to the same shampoo/conditioner, and I tend to always buy the cheaper-end stuff. I have been purchasing those VO5 aromatherapy shampoos as of late. I think they are called Nourishing Oasis..........But my hair is also on the shorter-side, and pretty straight. As it gets longer I tend to buy the priceir products, like Pantene.

I've used Thermasilk for the longest time and it works on my hair.

I <3 VO5 Blueberries and Cream shampoo. It smells good enough to eat.

Nioxin, it's available in salons. Really great for oily hair!

Treseme. Not only are they big bottles with a ton of stuff in them (which makes them last for a while), but the shampoo and conditioner is fantastic. Before I got my hair layered, I used the deep conditioning stuff they made and now I use the volumizing stuff. It is fantastic.

I usually use salon brands but I just discovered a great trip - using tea tree oil in the shampoo. I put about 40 drops into a medium size bottle and my hair seems really clean everytime. I used to get styling product buildup and now I don't. My sister used it while she was here and she said it helps with her dandruff. Paul Mitchell makes a tea tree oil shampoo, but this way is cheaper.

My hair is the exact same way. Mine is bad enough where I have to take a shower in the morning. No washing my hair the night before because by around noon my hair will be oily. My cousin (she works in a salon) told me to use fructis fortifying shampoo. They have a ton of stuff. Just read the back to make sure that it says normal to oily hair. Don't use any kind of moisturizing shampoo, it'll just make your hair look oily again. Also only put conditioner (if you use it on the ends of your hair, not the roots)

Have you tried any of the other dove products? Like the gels, i was thinking about getting it. I have trouble find a good gel so I can wear my hair curly without it being all sticky or still being frizzy.

i really like the new dove shampoos.
I really like the clean smell they have. It's like simple shampoo that doesn't smell flowery. Just clean, as your hair should be!
I use their 2 in 1 volumizer when at the gym (one less bottle to lug around). And at home I use Tresemme's volumizing shampoo and conditioner.
I don't have oily hair (but I do have fine limp hair) so I can't really suggest a good one - sorry!

If you are a fake blond/highlighted like me, the Blonde line by John Frieda is what I use every day, I really like it.

Right now I am using pantene pro-v (the kind that is supposed to add volume). It worked for awhile, but now it seems to only cause build-up. It's frustrating.
I'm going to the salon tomorrow, so I'll look around and ask for a recommendation.

i am far from blonde, but i use john freida beach blonde hair stuff. it makes my hair look tossled, like i just walked off the beach. they are discontinuing it at my drugstore so my hair will look like crap soon. i got to find a replacement.
for shampoo, i constantly switch. i used to use neutrogena clean & also neutrogena anti-residue shampoo, which takes the build-up off your hair from products. either of those may work for oily hair.

i'm always switching shampoos. but the ones that i like are pantene (i can never go wrong with that), Thermasilk, Paul Mitchell thinning shampoo and conditioner (for already full-of-volume hair)
i'm not a fan of VO5 (initially they worked great for me and now they just dry out my hair...maybe it's the different "flavor" i got) and herbal essences is good for me somedays, other times not.

Do you mean full and thick? I tried that and it doesn't work on my hair. However, my roommate used it and it worked on her!! She already has thick hair, she doesn't need any more fullness!

I have to use the Pantene stuff for wavy/curly hair. My hair is THICK and sorta wavy. I use the conditioner, but for shampoo I use Head and Shoulders anti-itch shampoo. My head is always itchy.
