I passed out in the middle of a staff meeting today.
I had eaten breakfast(oatmeal & orange juice) and had a snack (rice cake w/peanut butter) at 10 am. Went to the meeting at 11. Started getting blurry vision then hands started shaking. Stood up to leave room to get orange juice, didn't even make it to the door. Luckily someone caught me. I woke up in a chair. My boss(diabetic) gave me a glucose tablet, and I feel better, but am still quite shaken up(I keep tearing up). Called doctor & have an appt. tomorrow morning.
Just had all those blood tests, and fasting blood sugar was normal--83. I don't know if my anemia would make me pass out? I'm so freaked out right now.

Geez, paige, I'm sorry. It's good that you have an appt. tmw... Whatever it is, I'm sure it's something you can figure out w/ your doctor. Why don't you go home?

I'm scared I'm gonna pass out again, since there is nobody at home, I figure I'm safer at work.
My mom is driving down, but it takes a few hours to get here.

Paige -
I don't know what to tell you. I went through the same stuff whenI was dieting. I passed out three different times and my doctor couldnt figure out what it was from. I would also get light-headed and black out all the time. I still get the light-headed thing, but thats about it..I wish I could tell you something to help...

Blood pressure is always normal. The only abnormalities out of all my tests were that I had very little B vitamins and low red blood cell count(hence the anemia) and my thryroid levels were barely normal. Thyroid ranges from .4-5.5 & my level was right at .41
Kitty-I keep thinking it may be my diet, but I don't get why it's happening right now(meaning past 2-3 months) when I've been on a weight loss plateau.

Oh Paige, I'm so sorry to hear about this. Hang in there, kiddo. Let us know how you are doing...
Have you eaten any protein? From what you've said you've eaten today, it's all carbs...

Actually, when it happened to me I think i'd been dieting for 6 months!!! So, who knows? The first time it happened it FREAKED ME OUT. I suddenly woke up on the floor and it took me about a minute to figure out what on earth was going on.
Do you feel light-headed or black out at all when you're working out? That used to happen to me.

Kitty-I passed out once in late December/early January.
Luna-My diet has been monitored by my personal trainer & my doctor, so I'm not doing anything to extreme.
Pisces-We had a b-day party for a lady during lunch today, so I have loaded up & eaten 2 tuna fish sandwich triangles & 2 chicken salad triangles(which I figure equals a whole sandwich), spinach dip, tortilla chips, and some fruit.
I usually only eat proteins from lunch & dinner, so I'm still confused as to why this is all affecting me now.
Part of me is wondering if this has to do with my Vitamin pill the doc put me on. I've felt wierd all week. It's called Foltx, all it has in it is FolicAcid, B6 & B12. I'm wondering if it's increased my levels and my body just isn't used to having levels this high?

I would leave work if I were you. It could also be stress related or something. Anyway, I think your body is telling you something and its probably best to relax.

:bigger: I'm actually coloing right now, it's very therapeutic :bigger:
A batch of Marines are coming back from Iraq today & there is a procession that drives right past the college, so I've been making & coloring banners all day today.

Paiger, I noticed you've had no protein this morning. Between the sugars from the juice and the rest of the carbs, you have no protein to balance things out. Just a little tip from my doc. ;)

Paige, I hope you're ok. And keep us posted about what the dr says.
I passed out once at a club and I hadn't been drinking alcohol or anything. I think I was just seriously dehydrated and the club was super hot and crowded.

:googly: My parents have called me every 30 minutes :googly:
I actually feel a lot better. I don't think it's stress related. I keep thinking about how I feel when I have my panic attacks, and it doesn't feel the same. I'm seriously thinking it's the Foltx. I don't know.
And you want to know something shitty?! The Marines came home, and the freaking news stations loved my banners, so they interviewed me. By this point I had teared up so many times that I had wiped all my make-up off.

(((hug))))
I hope you're feeling better. I'm hypoglycemic, and I can get really shaky and pass out if I don't have enough to eat.
Is is possible that you were dehydrated? I've passed out twice before, and both times were because I was dehydrated. On both occasions I had excersized that day but not really replenished my liquids as I should have.

Take care Paige! I know that's scary. I've never actually passed out but I went through a period when I came close several times - never figured out why. One of them was in Union Station in D.C. - I almost totally blacked out and was sure that I would not only pass out - but get mugged!
Let us know what happens!
