OK. I tried I gave it a valiant effort to eat plain yogurt with a little vanilla extract and some strawberries. I couldn't do it. It was nasty! I added a little bit of sugar ( I know not good), but I figure if I just cut down on the sugar everyday I can slowly get accustomed to the taste. Then I won't miss the sugar.

How do you guys eat plain yogurt, maybe you all will have a better way to do it?

I try to let the fruit sit in the yogurt for awhile, so that some of the fruit taste actually mixes into the yogurt.

I just suck it up...and try to get fruit in every bite of yogurt, lol. Adding the vanilla extract is a good idea...also, you could just get vanilla yogurt?

Yeah vanilla yogurt doesn't add that much extra and it definitely has more flavor.

I want to start adding yogurt into my diet but I am not a fan of the taste. I might just use it to make smoothies - it's healthy if it's just yogurt and frozen fruit, right?

Yes, it's healthy, but if you are trying to lose weight, watch the calories.

With plain yogurt I add 1 teaspoon of Splenda & vanilla extract. I've never eaten it completely plain.

I thought about that, but my roommate cooks alot so she has all kinds of extracts. I figured I could try a different one every day. :)

Paiger- I think my mom uses Splenda. Maybe she'll let me have a little to take home and try in it.

I like it, I figure since it's made from sugar it's better than the Sweet-N-Lows & Equals. Plus I don't taste any aftertaste.

They have low-carb yogurt which I think has very very little sugar in it and its only like 80 or 90 calories. It's really yummy. It's kind of thick, which I like.

Splenda tastes okay, but its consistency icks me out. I tend to not sugar OD anyway, so I don't really worry about substituting it.

What kinds of yogurt do you guys like, brandwise? I used to eat it all the time, but kind of got away from it, but it's sounding really good right now. I like vanilla and plain, both, but am not that big on fruit yogurt.

For some reason, I just can't get into yogurt. I think part of it is the texture and it just tastes sour to me - even the vanilla.

The Danon Light and Fit yogurt is good, but I'm not sure about the sugar in it. I know it has less fat/carbs than Yoplait.

I'm not the biggest fan of fruit yogurts either. There is one kind I used to get because they had a chocolate flavor but it was so unhealthy. It was made out of whole milk and there would be a cream/butter layer on top. So good but so unhealthy. I really liked chocolate chip yogurt in Europe so I was going to try and make it using plain yogurt and a few chopped up chocolate chips.

Vanilla yogurt is good with a few chocolate sprinkles or chips thrown on top.

Yoplait is my favorite brand. I loooove the orange creme. It tastes kinda like those flinstones push up pops
