The past week the back of my foot has been KILLING me. To the point where I feel like I can barely walk. I've been wearing flats and sandals a lot, and it still hurts. I am worried I did some kind of damage from wearing heels or something.
I don't really know what I'm asking - I'm just wondering if I should go to the doctor?

That happened to me once and it just went away. It hurt BADLY--I feel for you!! I don't know how it happened either. Could it just be bruised internally?

It does kind of feel like that. Like any pressure absolutely KILLS!

Have you looked at it? Are you sure you don't have a small cut on your heel?
When I was in Vermont for school it was so dry and my skin got so dried out that my heel actually cracked, it was so painful to walk!

No, no cut. It's not that kind of pain. It's more like my lower ankle than anything else.
That sounds really painful bugsey :(

My dad had a problem with his heel once. It got so bad he could barely walk without being in pain. He finally went to the doctor and found out he had a bone spur. He had it removed and he has been fine since.

Ok, add bone spur to the list of things to worry about! :heehee:
Man, I hope that's not what it is...

My mother also had bone spurs and she had it removed. But those get so bad that you really can't walk. I think you would know if you had it.

LOL!!! ok. I just didn't want to freak you out

My dad heel hurt pretty bad, but he didn't find out he had them until he was trying to dive into the pool. His heel caught the board in just the right way. It sent a sharp pain straight up his leg. He thought he'd broken something. Turns out it was just a spur.

LOL, my feet will probably fall off someday because of my years of wearing uncomfortable, but super-cute, high heels. Just last weekend I tore up my left foot wearing not-broken-in sandals that rubbed in a major way.
If it's still hurting in a week, def. see a doctor. Hope it feels better!

Thanks!
I actually worry about the whole high-heel thing because my friend works w/ a lady who had to have three major surgeries because of what high-heels did to her. Scary.

Dude, my feet hurt when I weat flats. I ALWAYS get shin splints from flip flops... It's annoying. I'm probably going to have problems from high heels, too, but I just can't care right now. I'll get those injections in the ball of my foot to fix it.

I'm picturing like those nursing type shoes. White w/ huge rubber chunky souls.
When I use the word "flats" I am referring to cute shoes that don't have heels. LOL.

There are two women at my current job who wear them. They wear them even w/ skirts and dresses. They aren't even that old. In a way it must be kind of nice, like little pillows for your feet all the time..

there is a lady here who wears them too, but they are black. I think she must have other problems too because sometimes her ankle is wrapped in an ace bandage. She is older, maybe early to mid 50s, and overweight and she seems to limp alot.

yeah, you can tell she sometimes has worse days than others, but she is a really nice lady so you don't so much mind getting stuck behind her in a hallway
