A friend of mine posted this Christmas greeting on their Facebook wall today:

"My friend, I wish you peace, love, happiness & health, blah blah. . . fuck that shit! I wish you lots of good sex, alcohol, orgasms, and hope you win the fucking lottery!"

    That's how I feel too!

Air travel makes no sense at all. It was cheaper for me to go to Pittsburgh, fly an hour and 15 minutes to Cincinnati, wait 2.5 hours in Cincinnati, then fly one hour to St. Louis. Why is it not cheaper to fly directly from Pittsburgh to St. Louis? Of course, this is St. Louis--good luck finding a direct flight there from anywhere!

The flight back tonight was slightly more rational--45 minutes to Cincy, and I was on the ground only 45 minutes before I flew an hour to Pittsburgh. Whereupon I had to pay sixty-one dollars to get my car out of the parking garage! Which makes even less sense!

A local tweet about the current lake-effect snowstorm in northern Ohio:

"The weather outside is freightful (sic) but this blunt I'm smoking on is so delightful"

    idea

I'm telling you, I have a knack for marketing.

Driving back home today on the highway, I saw an 18-wheeler. It said on the side, "Platonic Transportation Services." So now I want to start my own truck line: Friends With Benefits Trucking.

"FWB--We'll haul your load all the way!"

I wonder who Zeus would endorse this election year. Let's face it--the man clearly doesn't favor abortion or contraception. Of course, Zeus believes in spilling his divine seed literally everywhere, so he can't be a Catholic. Zeus is the ultimate example of "be fruitful and multiply." Look at the Greek pantheon--Mt. Olympus is more inbred than the British Royal Family.

I went to the pizza place up the street from me last night, and the catering side of the parlor was advertising their catering special--the "Bella Cucina Bereavement Special." For $12.95 per person (plus tax), you could have a catered wake with appetizer, buffet entrees, dessert, drinks, and an open bar.

Am I the only person who finds something really wrong with this?

CNN.com headline last night: "Missouri: Show Me Santorum." Apparently, they've never Googled "Santorum," have they??

You said that you'd be mine and we signed that dotted line
I thought that we'd be happy you and me
If I had only known your love was just a loan
For now you're asking me to set you free

I never thought your kisses were like a charge account
That I'd have to pay in heartaches for taking my amount
I'll give you back your love that I've had all these years
But I'm paying off the interest with my tears

It's the expiration date you say there's no rebate
And I guess you'll say my heart is overdrawn
Another love you chose so my account is closed
And now I'll have an empty heart to pawn

My credit's discontinued you say there's someone new
To take over all the payments on a heart that's overdue
I'll give you back your love that I've had all these years
But I'm paying off the interest with my tears

I didn't understand your easy payment plan
That I would only have you for a while
The love contract we wrote was a just short-term note
You placed my name on your inactive file

I never thought your kisses were like a charge account
That I'd have to pay in heartaches for taking my amount
I'll give you back your love that I've had all these years
But I'm paying off the interest with my tears

Here's the difference between the city and the suburbs, at least in this part of the country.

I was driving through a southern suburb this afternoon, and I came across one of those family fun parks. The park advertised a "1/2-mile Go-Kart Course."

This is as opposed to the city of Youngstown, which becomes a gigantic racetrack after about 1 in the morning. Seeing as how most of the side streets here are broken apart, it's a much better challenge.

    Um...

    Might want to rephrase that.

It's a pretty brilliant pun, even if I'm not gay.

    Musical Interlude

Oh Lord, I'm tired, tired of livin' this old way

I'm standin' on the corner of a busy street
A-lookin' for your face in every crowd I see
Checkin' every honky tonk in this town
I'm tryin' to find the places that you hang around

Oh Lord, I'm tired, tired of livin' this old way

Now I've been waitin' on you baby night and day
I'm wonderin' if your love will ever come my way
But time's runnin' out and I'm slowing down
I'm tired of bein' just another hang around

Oh Lord, I'm tired, tired of livin' this old way

Now there ain't no happiness in anything I do
I find myself so lonely when I'm not with you
What makes just a kind of girl a guy will love
You've got so many others that you're thinking of

Oh Lord, I'm tired, tired of livin' this old way
Oh Lord, I'm tired, tired of livin' this old way

    I really need new glasses.

I got an email from a local supermarket chain advertising their weekly specials. One of the items advertised was "California Red-Ripe Strawberries--Buy One, Get One Free." Below that, it said, "1 lb. Clamshells."

When I first saw that, I thought it said, " 1 lb. Cumshots!"
