Well, I'm a Bengals fan, so I was very interested in seeing the Steelers lose.

I can't wait for the day that some team from another conference finally ends their national championship streak. I hope to God that it happens next year. There's no way one conference should be able to dominate like this for so many years. Something seems fishy. But then you look at recruiting sites like Rivals and there's like 5 SEC teams in the top 10 in recruiting, so it's hopeless. How can we get these top kids to start coming to northern schools or any other conference, for that matter? Eventually somebody is gonna have to end the SEC's reign. I mean this can't keep happening or can it? I know I'm ranting here, but it just boggles my mind that nobody can stop these guys from winning the NC every damn year.

Yes, I know about oversigning and it needs to be stopped. What gets me is that the NCAA gets on your ass if you sneeze the wrong way, yet they won't put a stop to this nonsense. They need to get their priorities straight. And the SEC is notorious for cheating. They always have been. I know that all the top schools cheat one way or the other, but the SEC lives or dies by cheating.

It's especially ironic when you consider Alabama is coached by Nick Saban--who graduated from Kent State. Who has gone to only one bowl game EVER! On top of that, don't forget all the coaches from teams who played for Cardinal Mooney HS here in Youngstown (including the three Stoops brothers).

Definitaly! The midwest, specifically Ohio, produces some great coaches. I mean Les Miles, Nick Saban, Stoops brothers, Pelini brothers, Urban Meyer, basically the whos who of coaches right now, all have ties to Ohio one way or another. Heck, the college I graduated from (and am attending yet again), Miami University of Ohio is called the Cradle of Coaches for all of the great coaches that came from there.

I forgot about Bo Pelini--he's from Youngstown too.

Jaroslav Halak got a shutout for the Blues at Montreal this evening; Halak played for the Habs for several years. The hometown crowd gave him a standing ovation despite the Canadiens losing 3-0. That's class. This is the first time the Blues have shut out the Habs in Montreal since 1973. That's classy too.

I'm wondering if all the Tim Tebow fans rushed to church last night to ask why God has forsaken them?

Joe Pa is dead. That was shocking/relevant for about 14 seconds, then got nonstop coverage for 14 hours. Kind of a shame that the recent mess marred his death, but on the other hand, he made his own decisions to make it that way.
The worst part about the coverage was them reading a statement from Sandusky. First, why would anyone care what that monster thinks? Second, this is the guy that put Joe Pa in this position to begin with, so I think he needs to do everything he can to stay away from anything related to him.

I know there are some crazy sports rivalries in the country, but anyone who wants to see it at historic levels should come to KC for the last Kansas/Missouri basketball game in February.
One of the nation’s most fierce rivalries of all-time, it dates back to the civil war, on the border where the fight between slave states and free states was most intense (lots of raping and pillaging, leading to the animosity that boils over at times today). Now, both basketball teams are ranked in the top 5. February will be the last time the 2 programs play, with Missouri leaving for the SEC next year. And it is all centered in Kansas City, where the fan-bases meet/clash. I haven’t seen sh!t-talking like this…ever, and its only going to get more intense in the next month. Tickets for the final matchup, in Lawrence, are going for a MINIMUM of $400 a seat, and that’s a single ticket in the top corner. Stay tuned in, folks – this one could lead to a riot.

Wow. Prince Fielder to Detroit! I suspect this deal will help the Cardinals more in the long run than it does Detroit.

This from the Official St. Louis Rams Facebook page: "With free agency set to begin on March 13, the Rams have question marks across the offensive line, some caused by injuries, others by performance and others from expired contracts."
Uhh, the Rams have an offensive line?? Could've fooled me!
