Jobs in the Marketing Field...

Anyone work at a marketing firm? Does anyone know of any really great marketing firms in NYC? If so, what is the turnover rate... aka, how far in advance do you apply for a position. If I want to start work in, say, September of 2007, when should I apply for a job?

Any help with any of these questions would be fabulous! Thank you!
