Good news? Congratulations!

Its a HUGE process in MA and since I was not laid off and rather terminated their was a huge possibility that I would NOT get approved since you dont qualify if you were fired or quit...I argued my case well even though I was fired...

It is good news because now I won't need to live in my car!

good stuff! Hope you find a kick ass job soon.

If you feel comfortable answering- why did you get fired?

Unemployment insurance rules!!

Other than the not having a job for the future part, being on unemployment was one of the most fun times of my adult life.

Simply put, their were some people who didn't like me but their was nothing they could do since I was a high performer, but then a situation occured where I accepted celtics tickets that were getting dropped off for MY BOSS by a radio rep, and on my way back to my desk I was grilled as to why i had the tickets and who they were for etc etc and I said they are for my boss I already have tickets to the game which I paid for and it shows since their seats are nose bleed seats. I was asked why they got them and I said

"I dunno maybe from a cross channel promotion or something I have no idea..."
Well they fired me for that comment since it took off and was changed and turned into a rumor and I was accused of saying "my boss is accepting bribes from radio reps to do business" which isnt what I said at all but they fired me since "that was the assumption and my comment undermined the integrity of sr management"

SO basically a BIG crock of bull shit, and I was told when they brought me in to terminate me that "I had no right to defend myself since the decision had already been made..." So yeah....

Yeah you are allowed to make an additional amount of money over the UI pay...if you make more then that they start to subtract the difference from your UI pay...you dont lose that money rather it just adds up on the other end so say you got 30 weeks of unemployment and you were collecting and makking some additonal amount of money your 30 weeks would keep extending until you run out of the money that you were alloted....however you cant make MORE then the unemployment so some weeks you wouldn't be able to collect since you were getting that money from elsewhere....

I don't want to rain on your parade, but be careful about getting over-enthusiastic. Your employer may protest your claim for benefits, and they may get shut off pending a hearing to determine your eligibility.
