question Any tea drinkers?

I love tea! Black tea, green tea, oolong tea, pu-erh tea, white tea, herbal tea, rooibos, honeybush, mint tea, jasmine tea, I love it all!

I recently launched a website for rating and reviewing teas. There's a large, searchable database of teas, organized by brand, style, and region. You can also read about different styles and varieties of tea. It's kinda modeled loosely after ratebeer.com, if anyone knows that site. It's called RateTea.net.

I would be very grateful for any participation and/or feedback! Also, if anyone has a tea blog, this site would be a good (and free) way to promote it among a community of tea drinkers!

P.S. What are your favorite kinds of tea? Mine is oolong (which is kinda between black and green tea for those who haven't had it), although I like different kinds for variety.

Heh, tea lover here myself. I love Oolong as well, as well as green tea, Lipton Tea, Black Tea, Bo Lay Tea (same as Oolong, who the heck knows?), Red Tea, Cinnamon Tea... Your site sounds hot, i'm gonna bookmark it. Wish you lots of luck on the project. Hey, PM me your Google Talk or email address - I'm also working on a web app project, and would love to share ideas/questions with you! =)

I enjoy a cup of tea but I am fine with varieties you can buy cheaply through the local grocery store.

This post reminds me of the time my husband and I went into one of those trendy tea stores in a local mall.......he was pushed into buying like fifty bucks worth of loose tea because they don't tell you up front how much it's going to cost. They just put "a scoop here and a scoop there" until you are walking out of there kicking yourself for spending so much money on tea. That was a couple years ago and we haven't gone back.

I drink a lot of tea, but I stick to the basic kinds, like English Breakfast, Earl Grey and regular Lipton. I really like Trader Joe's Earl Grey. My mom is a tea expert and won't even use tea bags at home; she insists on loose-leaf tea, which isn't easy to find, so she has it shipped from England and gets the good kind, like Fortnum and Mason. She loved it when I lived in London because I always got her tea as a gift.

You can get inexpensive loose tea at World Market.
