Elite performers use time completely differently than people who perform at an average level.


1. BE IN A BIGGER HURRY

a. Elite performers are in a much bigger hurry than average people. They are in a bigger hurry to get to their destination and to their desired outcome. They talk faster, they walk faster, and they expect to arrive at their destination sooner.

b. Their expectation of arrival is significantly sooner.

It's not the lack of vision that means you're going to lose, it's a lack of type of vision - depth perception.

c. You think you are further away from your outcome, so you pace yourself like it and you jog all the time throughout your life.

d. People who have accurate depth perception - they understand how close their goals are and they are constantly in a sprint to get there throughout the day.

e. Consequently, this means that you get started earlier, and finish later.

f. Time shrinks for elite performers.

EVALUATE YOUR PACE AND BE IN A BIGGER HURRY.


2. CONTROL YOUR TIME

a. People who win control their time, they don't let their time control them.

b. YOU ARE EITHER GOING TO CONTROL YOUR TIME, OR YOUR TIME IN GOING TO

CONTROL YOU.

c. You are going to dictate, or you are going to react (although not all the time).

d. YOUR PHONE - this device which we have all come to know and love all too well. This

device can either speed things up or slow things down.

e. TIP - When you wake up, DO NOT TOUCH YOUR PHONE FOR 30 MINUTES. Use this time to meditate, exercise, or do some other activity).

f. If you grab your phone right after waking up, you have already allowed your phone to dictate your day. If you avoid your phone early in the day, you have made the first decision and you control the day. Avoiding your phone and sticking to the decision sends a signal to the brain that you are in control.


3. WHY IS A DAY ONLY 24 HOURS? CONCEPT OF "MINI-DAYS"


a. Elite performers accomplish more in a 6-hour window than most people get done in a day.

b. When Ed was beginning in business, people used to say to him, "you are too young to win, you don't have enough experience." He thought to himself, "what can I do to handle this." You can speed up time by being more productive.


Shrink your day into 6 hour periods. "A DAY TO ME IS THAT MEASURE OF TIME. YOU WOULD BE SURPRISED WHAT YOU CAN GET DONE DURING THIS PERIOD OF TIME IF YOU SHRINK THE PRIORITY WINDOW TO 6 HOURS."

6am-12pm, First Day (Work, get all important things done)

12pm-6pm, Second Day (Meetings, fun, spend time with friends and loved ones, etc)

6pm-12am, Third Day (More or less the same agenda as 2nd day)

You accomplish 3x more with this approach. If you start with this routine - 1 month quickly turns into 90 days. You now have 3 days every 24 hours - imagine the multiplication over a week, month, year.


The amount of compounding that takes place in your life with this strategy is exponential. Try this for a week or two, and you will be astonished by the results.


Imagine if you have 90 days in a month, and the rest of the world has 30. Imagine the separation that you can create between yourself and the average.

4. ESTABLISH AN ALARM CLOCK IN YOUR MIND


There needs to be an alarm clock within you.


Where performance is measured, performance improves.


The more you shrink time frame where you measure performance the better chance you can have to alter that performance and improve it.

REALLY GOOD PERFORMERS GET TOGETHER ON A SUNDAY NIGHT, MAKE ADJUSTMENTS


REALLY TOP LEVEL PERFORMERS MEASURE PERFORMANCE EVERY DAY
